To start off, welcome to the IMDBWE. For some of you, this might be your first e-fed ever. For others, this might be just one of several e-feds you're involved in. Either way, we're just happy that you've joined. The IMDbWE has a history dating back from early 2005, when it was created on the IMDb Smackdown board. Since then, we have amassed a loyal group of e-fedders with top-notch talent and a never-say-die attitude. Unfortunately, due to some rough patches and other nonsense, we were forced to take a few months off in early '07. In early August, we moved to our current site, though we lost much of our recorded history in the process. That being said, our members remained strong and resilient, and now look to start a new era in the history of the IMDbWE.
First, here's a list of administrators at the IMDbWE. They're the ones who run this place, and can help you out if you need it.
Head Administrator - Lilnepfew
Admin - Tauros6
Admin - Mr. Brownstone
Admin - ReNeGaDe

Now we have a weekly show every Thusday called Battlezone and a PPV once a month.
To start off, welcome to the IMDBWE. For some of you, this might be your first e-fed ever. For others, this might be just one of several e-feds you're involved in. Either way, we're just happy that you've joined. Now, this thread has been created to help the newcomers out. Basically, it's a small guide on how we run things and how to do well here.
First thing to do is create your wrestler using the sample that is provided. Give some good details, and remember to keep them realistic. If you're a 5'8 cruiserweight that loves to do chokeslams, or your 7'2 enforcer's finisher is a springboard corkscrew senton to the outside, then there may be some problems.
Now, you may want to start with an introductory promo. The point of these, of course, is to introduce your character, giving us, the readers, a good feel for how your character acts. Soon enough, you'll have to do more promos in order to further your feud or maybe even start a new one. If you think you're uncreative and generally terrible at promoing, don't worry about it. We all start that way, but eventually you'll get better. If it helps, take something you've seen before in WWE/TNA/anywhere, and just give it your own little twist.
Eventually, you'll start having your own matches. Your wrestler can have matches with either controlled or uncontrolled wrestlers. If facing uncontrolled wrestlers, it is up to you to write the match yourself. If facing controlled wrestlers, however, you must first PM the owner of that wrestler and work out the details of the match. Then, one of you must write the match. Next, the writer must PM the match to whoever is posting the match results for that week: this will usually alternate between Matthew Preston and Mr. Brownstone(at times)
Currently due to lack of members the National Title, X-Division Title, and the Women's Championship are suspended. When we get more members, we'll open them up again. This would be the perfect time for you to join to get your hands on some gold.

This fed is set up so that you can feud with whoever you want to. Just PM anyone with a wrestler, and try to work one out. If everyone is busy with other feuds, then have one with an uncontrolled wrestler. Just remember that you control how well you do here. If you don't bother to ask someone for a feud, then don't expect one in the first place.
Also remember that not everyone can have a top spot. The fact of the matter is that some people will stuck in the low card. It's inescapable. If you are stuck, however, just stay patient. Heck, it took me a year just to be near the IMDBWE Title, while for some, it might take only two or three months. It's a combination of luck, talent, how well you work with others, and just being in the right place at the right time that decides how quickly you rise to the top.
Be sure to respect the veterans. We've been here and know our way around the place.
Arguing is stupid and pointless, especially concerning an e-fed. If you absolutely MUST agrue with someone, however, there are three ways you can go. You can PM the person about it and talk it over. Second, you can argue it over in the Inferno section set up on this site. If it REALLY gets out of hand, PM one of the guys who run this place (lilnepfew, renegade, or myself for the most case), and we'll try to work something out. Again, that option is for extreme cases. The big rule, however, is to not air out your little vendetta against other people in the IMDB thread. That's a huge no-no, and although I'm not really annoyed by it to be honest, a lot of people are, so don't.
Please don't randomly drop, add, and change your wrestlers. To be honest, it's kinda annoying (especially to me, since I have to make the changes to the roster). Additionally, if you drop your character, we reserve the right to turn it uncontrolled and continue using it.
We hate liars and troublemakers, so don't be one of them.
Being able to speak coherently is a very good thing. and should practically be a requirement here. Of course, we don't expect EVERY word and sentence to be grammatically perfect. But if we can't read what you're writing, then you may need to re-read your English book or stop typing so crappily.
Need help with match writing? www.wrestlingencyclopedia.com/dictmovesA.html and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_wrestling are good places to find moves. You may also want to look at our PPV and Battlezone archive for examples on how to format you match accordingly.
The amount of effort you put in is crucial to your success. I know that for me, it usually takes me two hours to create a promo, and three hours to write a match. For you to write a promo, it might take just twenty minutes, or maybe even four hours. Whatever the case, all we expect you to do is put some effort into your wrestler. Because if you don't, who will?
Your personal life is always more important than any e-fed can ever be. If you're sick, then rest up. If your job or schoolwork takes up too much time, then you'll have to scale back your involvement. Your real life is much more important than your fake wrestler's one.
Overall, the main reason of the IMDBWE is to have fun. It's a place where your dream wrestler can come alive. And honestly, I do hope you have as much fun here as I have.
Once again, if you have any questions, PM a staff member when you get there.
