In a time of great slaughter and suffering, the land known as Midland has fallen into casualty. The drums of war surround the empire as the great force of the Kushans move in to destroy the Vatican. The holy war between beasts and man, man and beasts, man and man and beast of beasts begins with the offering of sacrifice. The apostles led by the Band of the Hawk move in to defend the land, wielding an iron sword in the name of the White Hawk, Griffith. Whose leadership and charisma makes him a god among men.
The mortal men of the land flee as the death escalates. The Demon Emperor of the Kushan Empire claims the white hawks head and his army made from the demons of hell and gods of the faith make their stand against the Holy See stronghold.
Guts and his party depart for the home of elves; Elfhelm. Crossing the ocean of tides will be a difficult journey as the currents are strong and the monsters relentless. Surrounded by a sea of unseen threats and dangers, they travel in the dim hope of finding inner peace.
Midland has suffered greatly after the 100 year war. Poverty drains the land of resources and people are driven hopelessly towards the light.
In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above? At least if true that man has no control; even over his own will.
The greatest war of this world has begun, forces undetermined by good or evil are brought into a field of plague and desecration. The land occupied by beasts only sought out of legend rise to take the sword and shield. Men and women alike now fight for their right to live among the world and the last hope of everlasting peace is broken and thrown away. Will you stand up for what is right? Will you remain to yourself or will you join a guild or band? The path has been set before you ...
